RE:
occupancy
furniture removal
Maxi's food / beverage

Maxi's
Sorry for the delay in getting back to you, but I've had several
meetings of the minds and I think we have come up with some great
discounted pricing for functions to be held in Maxi's Ballroom, Maxi's
Lounge and the Salon.
Here is what I have on the discounted drink prices. We will offer a 20%
discount off of our hosted drink prices which would break down as follows:

Hosted Price Discounted Price

House Brands $5.50 $4.40

Premium Brands $6.00 $4.80

Deluxe Brands $6.50 $5.20

Cognac, Cordial & Port $7.00 $5.60

Micro/Import Beer $5.25 $4.20

Domestic Beer $4.75 $3.80

I think the specialty drink that was mentioned by one of the hosts would
fall under the discounted house brands price of $4.40, but of course we
would need a description of what the actual drink consists of. Please
keep in mind that these prices apply only to hosted beverages.

In terms of discounted food items, I have worked with the chef's on
a couple of ideas. Discounted food items are as follows:
Standard Price Discounted Price

Chips and Salsa $3.50 per person $1.75
per person

Chips and Assort. Dips $3.50 per person $1.75 per
person

Soft Pretzels w/ mustard $2.95 each $1.50 each

Swedish Meatballs $19.00 per doz. $15.00
per doz.

Spicy Buffalo Wings $20.00 per doz. $16.00
per doz.

Also what about the corking fee if we bring in the booze?

Also will they let us bring in our own kegs? If so, even if they are home brew?

*Cajun when we went up the other day the max capacity for both restaurant & bar was 350 I believe.

Yikes! Sorry 'bout forgetting to post occupancy and furniture stuff.

Occupancy:
Presidential Suites: 35
Parlor Suites: 25
Lakeside Suites: 34
This is no change from the previous numbers. The fire marshall visited the rooms. The number of exits is a huge factor in determining how many people can occupy a room.

Message from hotel staff

Hi Jeanine,
I just spoke to Richard and the quotes he got back form the moving
companies are as follows:

Standard Guest Rooms = $500.00 per room
Lakeside Suites = $1500.00 per room

This would include removal, storage and replacement of all guestroom
furniture, with a minimum of 12 guestrooms or 3 lakeside suites.
Removing beds alone was simply not a large enough job for them to
provide a quote for. Richard did mention that he would be open to
receiving a quote from the gentlemen who mentioned that they own a
moving company during our last meeting as long as they were licensed and
insured. Please let me know if you have any additional questions.

All I want moved out the 2 rooms we are using for our party are the beds, and the TV's. If you are telling me it is going to cost $1000 for that it is simply crazy. It would be cheaper for my organization to get insured and bonded to move the stuff ourselves for the weekend.

Can we maybe ask the hotel if they have enough room for the storage of the TV's and get a better answer on us providing storage room for the mattresses and box springs? I did not see any answers for that question, and I know we have a ton of room to use for storing a mattress or 10.

To be very direct we are renting 5231, 5233 and 5230 which is right accross the hall and is our desiganted storage room for the weekend. So basically I need the stuff moved about 50 feet. And then I need one bed brought back to each room each night so that the rooms can actually be slept in. Takes about 10 minutes each way if you are moving slowly.

i agree, these prices are insane. i think that the hotel may be trying to make a profit from this.

if they're trying to jeopordize thier contract with Norweson, they're doing a great job...

Just one thing about the cost of the move, this is using their moving company, not the one that volunteered at the meeting. In the last email that I saw it said that IF that company would like to bid on the job, there is a possibility of the cost going down. So if you own, or work for a company that could help us out, please have that company put in a bid ASAP.

Neo is working on getting a lower quote for us and should have a response within the week.

keep in mind that the max occupancy for the rooms is unchanged even with the furniture removed, so some of you may not want to bother with the added expense since it makes no difference.

from the responses the hotel has given so for, it seems to me that they just don't want us there. they appear to be throwing up road blocks to everything we're trying to do, from the max occupancy to the rediculous prices for moving furniture. the fate of Norweson hangs by a thread....

Furniture removal....

Postby NEO Paradigm -- IBT on Wed Nov 14, 2007 2:52 pm

Here is my immediate thought.....

And it might not be too nice...

Party with the furniture in.

Its cheaper!
They want 2000 for a deposit for the Lakeside suite, so be it.
Or we don't use the suites. No deposit. No occupancy issue.

Okay don't do that!!!!!!!!
But that is immediately what comes to mind and I am the fourth person in phone conversations to say so.
I know already there will be those who will proceed without the hotels graces and will take their own road just to fight the fight.

I will talk to who I need to and see what can be done...
Hotel and I will need to know how many rooms need to be moved. please respond.

It may be the whole room or nothing. They hinted at that. I also need to know if the hotel intends on hiring us or if the Parties are hiring us or Norwescon is or what?

Their rules say any party may bring in a professional mover to move the furniture.??? yikes! That would be a mess.

There are so many issues..... sigh.

I need contacts ....
and support.
I do not run in the face of difficulty.
I do not flee before a loss.
I do not turn off the open sign before closing time.
