This is why IBT is NOT doing RustyCon this year:

Discuss our clubs' upcoming parties so we may better coordinate timing and logistics, suggest ideas for new events, or any thing else that relates to party planning...

i just got this copy of more party rules from the RustyCon BoD:

"Room Parties at Rustycon

We have negotiated two options for Room Parties at Rustycon.

1. You may host a room party in your Hotel room; the hotel is charging an additional $50 fee for the extra cleanup of the room after the event. This fee will cover your room for both Friday night and Saturday night, The Hotel will also deliver a limited number of tubs of ice to your room (total to be delivered depends on the demand for the service). Please be aware that the fire marshal considers the sleeping rooms to have a maximum occupancy of 4.

2. You may host a party or other event in one of the city rooms at $50/night. This will be billed to your sleeping room (you must have a sleeping room). There are 9 City Suite rooms each measuring 17X25, (all also include a half bath). We have arranged for you to be able to bring in your own food and alcohol to serve in these rooms, or you may work with the Hotel staff to have your event catered.

Of course all of the standard rules apply to the room parties

· Please do not disturb the other guests

· Keep the music low, we do not want to hear anything outside of your room after 10pm

· If you are serving, card everyone

· … ETC

If you are interested in hosting a room party at Rustycon, Please send a mail to hotel-liaison@rustycon.com"

this is utter bullshit.... no music after 10pm? what are we, Mormons? max occupancy of FOUR? four people does NOT a party make... and Rustycon wonders why it's dying....

well, norwescon has similar limits

the city rooms at 50 a night are an intriguing option

from the hotels website those would seem to be the lobby level meeting rooms. those have a 40 person occupancy as banquet rooms.

a fairly large room without having to worry about moving beds and such could be a definite plus for a party

since these are on a different level than guest rooms i wonder if the noise restrictions will be as strict for those? i also wonder how late we'd be able to party in one

if the 9 rooms are in a seperated area, mayhap the whole area could be closed off and made 21+ and allow people to carry their drinks betwixt parties

this has a chance of not sucking
it might
